Ferrari is busy with plans to build a theme park and luxury hotel in Barcelona, at the Port Aventura Resort.
Dubbed ‘Ferrari Land’, the plans include a rollercoaster which PortAventura claim will be the highest and fastest of it’s kind.
Ferrari already have a theme park in Abu Dhabi, but this will be their first venture into Europe, and their first ever hotel. Andrew Perrone of Ferrari said: “After the success of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, we received many, many requests to develop new amusement parks.
“[This] is a very solid plan developed by competent people that will bring the magic of Ferrari to Spain, a nation where we have many supporters and enthusiasts, and to which large numbers of tourists flock each year”.
Slated to be 5-star, the hotel will have 250 rooms complete with restaurants and a driving simulator.
DesignMinder have already placed their bets for at least one, if not several ‘Ferrari Suites’. Luxury car suites of this kind are nothing new; there is a ‘Jaguar Suite’ at 51 Buckingham Gate, as well as the ‘Bentley Suite’ at the St. Regis New York.
And Ferrari definitely seem to be thinking in that direction, as the building’s shape resembles the front wing of their Formula 1 car – and will be painted in what is known as ‘Ferrari red’!
